FindEnglish is a curated directory of English-speaking services across Germany — built after one too many surprises that nobody warned us about.

Moving to Germany changes everything — the food, the pace, the bureaucracy, and suddenly, the language too. Nobody hands you a manual. You find out what you needed to know the moment you needed it — usually standing at a checkout, a viewing, or an insurance counter, wishing someone had told you five minutes earlier.
A few of the moments that stuck with us: standing at a small bakery in Bavaria, card in hand, being told "nur Girocard" — no Visa, no Mastercard, cash preferred. Nobody had mentioned that plenty of small shops and restaurants in Germany, especially outside the big cities, still run mostly on cash or the local Girocard (what most people still call an EC-Karte) — not the international card everyone assumes will work everywhere.
Or arriving with no idea that finding an apartment could take months — and ending up searching from a hotel room for weeks longer than planned, simply because nobody said: start looking before you land, not after.
Or, years into living here, discovering — quite by accident — that not having filed a single car insurance claim actually earns you something: a no-claims bonus class (SF-Klasse) that lowers your premiums. Nobody mentions that either, until you're hunting for a service just to help you claim a discount you'd already earned.
None of these things are secrets. They're just the kind of thing every expat learns separately, the hard way, usually alone. FindEnglish exists so the next person doesn't have to. So we built a directory: doctors, banks, tax advisors, lawyers, insurance brokers, and more — all confirmed to work in English, currently covering Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Frankfurt, plus services available nationwide and online across Germany.
From expats, for expats.
We're not an open directory where anyone can pay to be listed. Every service on FindEnglish is carefully selected.

Every service is pre-selected for English support, so you find the right one in minutes, not weeks.
Browsing FindEnglish never requires an account. But we'd love for it to become more than a one-way list. Every service listing has a review section at the bottom of its page — sign in with Google there to leave one. We only use it to confirm you're a real person, nothing else is accessed.
Had a good (or bad) experience with a service you found here? Leave a review. Discovered a great English-speaking business that isn't listed yet? Tell us. FindEnglish gets better every time someone shares what they learned — that's the whole idea: expats helping the next expat skip the parts we all had to figure out alone.
